Lessons & enrollment

What lessons does Encore offer?

Encore offers in-studio piano, small-group and private vocal instruction, private online piano and vocal instruction, and two Friday choir ensembles. Piano and vocal lessons are 30 minutes. Choir is a 60-minute weekly ensemble.

Where are lessons held?

In-person lessons are taught in a home studio in the Herriman area. The exact address and arrival instructions are provided to enrolled families. Students outside the area may take private live online lessons, recorded lessons and feedback, or a combination of both.

What ages and experience levels are accepted?

Encore works with students at different ages and experience levels. Placement depends on readiness, goals, current openings, and whether private, small-group, or choir instruction is the best fit.

What happens at the first lesson?

The first lesson helps the instructor understand the student’s current skills, interests, learning style, vocal or piano goals, and appropriate next steps. It is instructional, but it also serves as a placement and fit check.

Is a weekly time reserved for the whole block?

Yes. A confirmed weekday and time repeats each week during the selected enrollment block, except for published studio closures. Families must contact the studio to request a change, and a different time is not guaranteed.

Tuition & payment

When is monthly tuition charged?

Monthly tuition is charged on the first day of each month using the payment method authorized through Stripe. A student who begins after the block starts may receive a prorated first charge based on the remaining scheduled lessons.

What are the weekly rates?

In-studio piano and small-group vocal lessons are $35 per 30-minute weekly lesson. Private in-studio vocal and all private online piano or vocal lessons are $45 per 30-minute weekly lesson. Choir is $50 per 60-minute weekly session.

Are discounts available?

Full September–May tuition paid upfront receives a 10% discount. An additional sibling receives 5% off that sibling’s tuition. The studio will confirm whether a discount may be combined with Utah Fits All or another funded program.

What happens if a payment fails or is late?

The studio will contact the account holder and may retry the payment method. Lessons may be paused and the recurring time may be released if the balance remains unpaid after notice. Contact the studio promptly if a payment problem occurs.

Are refunds available?

Tuition and sales are generally final. Refunds are provided when required by law or controlling marketplace rules, or when Encore cannot provide the purchased lesson and cannot provide an acceptable makeup or credit. Missed lessons, no-shows, and family-requested withdrawals do not ordinarily qualify.

Attendance & calendar

What if a student needs to miss a lesson?

Contact the studio at least 24 hours before the lesson whenever possible. Makeup lessons are subject to availability and may be in person, live online, recorded, or a combination. They are not guaranteed.

What is the no-show policy?

A no-show or cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice is charged normally and ordinarily does not receive a makeup, credit, or refund. Genuine emergencies may be considered individually.

What happens if Encore cancels?

Encore will offer a reasonable makeup or account credit. If the studio cannot maintain the purchased instruction and no acceptable replacement can be provided, the undelivered lesson will be refunded.

Which school calendar does the studio follow?

Encore generally follows the Jordan School District calendar, federal and Utah holidays, and the studio’s extended Christmas break. The dedicated Calendar page lists the current no-lesson dates.

When are the studio recitals?

The tentative Winter Recital is Friday, December 11, 2026, and the tentative Spring Recital is Friday, May 21, 2027. Times and locations will be announced to enrolled families after they are confirmed.

Can a student switch times during a block?

Only with studio approval. A requested change depends on program fit, group capacity, and a suitable opening. The original recurring time remains in place until the studio confirms a change.

Vocal, choir & online learning

What do vocal lessons cover?

Lessons may include healthy singing fundamentals, breath coordination, posture, tone, pitch, rhythm, diction, music reading, notation, theory, interpretation, performance, and introductory composition. Instruction is educational and is not medical or speech therapy.

How is choir different from a vocal lesson?

Choir focuses on ensemble skills such as blend, harmony, rehearsal habits, sight-reading, theory, and performance. Choir size is flexible rather than limited to six students, and enrollment remains available while the studio keeps the Friday session open.

What if singing causes pain or unusual symptoms?

The student should stop and tell the instructor immediately. Vocal study should not require singing through pain, breathing difficulty, dizziness, or persistent hoarseness. Families are responsible for seeking evaluation from an appropriate licensed healthcare professional when needed.

How do recorded online lessons work?

The studio may provide recorded instruction, receive a student recording, and return feedback and next steps. Families need a suitable device, stable internet, a safe practice area, and adult support for a minor when reasonably needed.

May families record or share lessons?

Only with prior studio permission. Lesson links, recordings, sheet music, and studio materials are for the enrolled student and may not be posted, sold, or redistributed.

Utah Fits All

Which options are available through Utah Fits All?

Current four-month marketplace packages are $560 for weekly small-group vocal instruction, $720 for private piano or vocal instruction, and $800 for choir. Availability, scholarship eligibility, student funds, and marketplace approval requirements apply.

How is Utah Fits All tuition paid?

Utah Fits All packages are purchased upfront through the scholarship marketplace. Odyssey and the marketplace control scholarship approval and payment processing; Encore does not determine eligibility or guarantee approval.

How do I reserve a weekly time after a Marketplace purchase?

Complete the Utah Fits All Marketplace purchase first. Then choose an available weekly time on the booking calendar and select ‘I paid through Utah Fits All.’ Do not use Stripe. The studio will hold the time temporarily, verify the Marketplace purchase, and then confirm the recurring appointment.

Can an ESA package be prorated?

Contact the studio before purchasing. Any proration or adjustment must be compatible with the current marketplace listing and Utah Fits All rules. The studio will not promise a marketplace adjustment that the program does not permit.
